Breakfast & Lunch 25 kmGuided by a local expert, you’ll cycle through some of the quieter rural villages along the spectaculat Yulong River valley. We'll visit the 400 year old Yulong and Fuli Bridges where we’ll stop for a local lunch. After lunch we'll cycle to the boat jetty toboard a bamboo raft for a slow drift down the river, poled along by a local boatman who might regale you with local folk songs. Along the way you’ll see locals working fields and tending livestock. Depending on time and interest you have the option to visit the market town of Baisha, one of the region's busiest markets. After the boat ride it's a short cycle back to the hotel where you will have free time to relax or explore the surrounding village.

Yangshuo is one of China’s most tourist friendly destinations with arguably it’s most amazing landscapes and rural scenery. Any trip to China should ideally include a visit to Yangshuo where you will experience classic Chinese scenery, village culture and local life far from the big cities. This tour takes you right into village life - you'll stay in a beautifully restored Qing Dynasty hotel in the heart of Jiuxian village which is situated in the idylic Yulong River valley. From here there are plentiful opportunities to explore by foot the surrounding farmland and tiny villages as the locals go about their daily life and we'll guide you throughout the area by bike. We explore further along the Li River to the small villages of Liugong and and Fuli by bicycle and mix it up with a bamboo boat ride along the Yulong River. Moon Hill is a favourite mountain to climb and we'll stop to take in the sublime karst mountain views. The cycling is easy and relaxed and an unforgettable way to experience local life and rural China. We also throw in a cooking class where you will prepare your own local style lunch and, for one of the evenings, we include a visit to the Liu San Jie Light and Sound show that lights up the Li River featuring a cast of hundreds of performers.
