"A rolling celebration through a magical limestone karst-mountain landscape featuring the cuisine of local farmers in classic rural countryside - an experience like no other!"
Day 1: Arrive Guilin - Transfer to Yangshuo - Welcome Feast
Dinner
The festival officially begins at 7:00pm on Friday the 24th May 2019 with a welcome feast and drinks in the village of Jiuxian, an ancient village nestled among limestone karst spires in the rural Yulong Valley. We'll settle you in to the festival accommodation, go over the coming weekends events and answer any questions you might have as well as fitting you out with your 2019 YBF t-shirt!
You can choose to arrive at anytime and we include a transfer to the festival hotel for anyone arriving today - just let us know your arrival details and we'll take care of the rest. The most convenient travel options are arrivals at Guilin Airport or Guilin, Yangshuo or Gongcheng Train Stations.
Those doing the Festival Pre-ride - a longer, more extensive tour of the surrounding region - will arrive today to join the main festival in the afternoon. We highly reccommend this for those with more time or travelling from afar as it compliments the Festival weekend perfectly as a longer experience in Yangshuo.
If you'd like to extend your stay in Yangshuo, before or after the Festival or Pre-ride, don't hestitate to get in touch for tips and suggestions as there plenty of things to do and see a stones throw away.
Day 2: Disco de Wheels - Ride the Yulong River - Dinner under the Stars
Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner40 km
We hit the road for a day on the bikes with a selection of tunes (wirlessly transmitted to your headphones) to enhance the already sublime scenery. Our guest Dj's will keep the mood bouncing along as we cycle a route carefully planned to maximise your exposure to the best of the Yangshuo's rural scenery and local culture. Meals today feature local specialities and refreshments and we'll stop for a refreshing swim along the way (so bring your bathers!). Budding Dj's are welcome to bring their own playlists for a shot at styling the grooves (so bring your dance shoes too!)
The ride will finish back at the Festival hotel with time for some river swims, walks or treat yourself to a massage with one of our in-house masseuses. Dinner will be on the rooftop with one of the finest views in the region as a backdrop. Some live local music will set the mood before we celebrate with some more tunes under the moonlight.
Day 3: Morning Moon Hill Ride or Farmers Walk - Optional Chinese Cooking Class and Lunch - Departure
Breakfast & Lunch
There's options on the last day to take a faster paced musical ride exploring more of the surrounding countryside. For those that want a more relaxed morning there's an option to do a great walk through the farming communities to learn a little about the ways of the locals culminating in a cooking class where the whole group will meet for lunch.
We'll finish up the festival with some departure drinks and live music at a nearby guesthouse, Outside Inn. You are free to depart at anytime (we'll get you to your departure point - just let us know your travel details when you book). If you'd like to stay on for some extra time, the Outside Inn where we finish the festival is ideally located and is in quaint renovated farmers cottages. Transfers to your onward travel will be arranged from here and your luggage will be transported to Outside Inn in the morning and ready for you to collect. Showers will also be available.
